Two M3 thumbscrews secure the device to its mating connector. The device can be easily inserted into an existing communication channel with no additional hardware. In Figure E-2, the Isolator is shown connected directly to a CPU module. NI PXIe-1085Alternatively, the Isolator can be mounted separately from the PLC system using the extender cable provided. One configuration not covered in the User's Manual is the case where the Isolator is powered by a source other than the host port.
