So, when a new message is published on that topic, the subscriber received the “on” or “off” message and turns the lamp on or off. Additionally, there are two wildcard characters ‘+’, and ‘#’. You can use the wildcard characters to subscribe to similar topics at the same time easily. ‘+’ is single level wildcard; A ‘+’ character represents a single level of hierarchy, and is used between delimiters. For example, you can subscribe the topic “home/+/lamp” for all the lamps in a home. ‘#’ is the multi-level wildcard; A ‘#’ character represents a complete sub-tree of the hierarchy and must be the last character in a subscription topic string.
