Enclosed I/O card type
Enclosed I/O card types are clearly marked on the enclosure. All boards have power and internal error indicators. Eight channel cards have channel status LEDs that are clearly visible. By carefully selecting high-quality electronic components and using conformal coatings, all boards meet ISA G3 corrosion specifications. Most DI cards have pulse counters. The maximum supported frequencies range from 0.1 Hz for AC signals to 75 or 120 Hz for 24V DC inputs. For pulse counting up to 50 KHz, use the high-speed pulse input of the multi-function card. The DeltaV system provides control module level timestamps for logging events and alerts. In order to obtain higher event resolution, 16 channel event sequence DI cards can provide signal driven events, with a resolution of+/-0.25 ms for each card or 1 ms for each controller.

The same board can be used for simplex or redundant applications. When installed on two wide redundant terminal blocks, the controller identifies the boards as redundant pairs. The controller scans each card and determines which card acts as the active interface. When a fault is detected, the system automatically switches to the standby I/O card.
