It enables the RX3i controller to communicate with other PACSystem devices as well as the 90 Series and VersaMax controllers. The Ethernet interface provides transmission control protocol and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) communication with other control systems, hosts running host communication kits or programming software, and computers running TCP/IP version programming software. These communications use the Service Request Transfer Protocol (SRTP), Modbus TCP, and Ethernet Global Data (EGD) protocols on the four tiered TCP/IP (Internet) stack. The features of the RX3i Ethernet interface include: ▪ Complete programming and configuration services. Upgrade the firmware from the RX3i CPU using the WinLoader software utility, which is provided with the Ethernet interface software update. ▪ Regular data exchange using Ethernet Global Data (EGD). ▪ EGD reads and writes commands from controller and EGD exchange memory through network. ▪ TCP/IP communication service using SRTP. ▪ Support SRTP channel, Modbus/TCP server and Modbus/TPC client ▪ The built-in Station Manager is used for online monitoring access to the Ethernet interface.
