Unless a smart battery is used, the PACSysts CPU may not be able to detect the low battery condition early to provide a meaningful warning for battery replacement. A conventional battery with a very low capacity may still have a sufficiently high terminal voltage to report it as a good battery. In this case, when the battery starts to provide storage power (backup battery), the battery voltage will rapidly drop to an unacceptable level, and the user will hardly be warned before the failure occurs. To ensure that data will not be lost when using any type of battery other than smart batteries, users should replace the batteries according to the guidelines provided in the PACSystems Controller Battery and Energy Pack Manual GFK-2741. In addition, users can save logical and hardware configurations to flash memory. Ethernet disconnection during verbatim change If the Ethernet connection is disconnected during verbatim change, the programmer may not allow subsequent verbatim change after reconnection, because it considers that another programmer is currently connected.
