Extension operation
The topic of CPU functional compatibility describes that it is not allowed to use different CPU models for expansion operations. During normal operation, the primary and secondary units in the HSB redundant system must have the same CPU model type. Extension operations with different CPU types are not allowed. The main unit and auxiliary unit with different CPU models can be synchronized in a limited time for system upgrade only. The failure latency of high-performance CPUs in different redundant pairs may need to be increased to allow synchronization. Any model can be in the main unit or auxiliary unit. The 90 series kit (IC641SWP709/719) is incompatible with PACSystems. PACSystems RX7i supports 90-70 series expansion rack compatibility 90-70 expansion racks. PACSystems RX7i CPU and RX7i Ethernet module cannot operate in the 90-70 series rack. 90-70 Series Mainframe Compatibility The 90-70 Mainframe cannot be used with PACSystems RX7i systems. PACSystems RX7i CPU and RX7i Ethernet module cannot operate in the 90-70 series rack.
