.Reliability of control system
The reliability of any independent product or control system will be affected by equipment maintenance. ABB recommends that preventive maintenance be carried out on all equipment to keep the equipment operating at an optimal level. This section describes the procedures that the customer should be able to perform on site. These preventive maintenance procedures should serve as guidelines to help establish good preventive maintenance practices. Personnel performing preventive maintenance shall meet the following qualification requirements. • The personnel shall be qualified electrical technicians or engineers who understand the correct use of test equipment. • Personnel should be familiar with module installation devices and field terminal panels, have experience in handling process control systems, and know what precautions should be taken when working on live AC and/or DC systems. Preventive maintenance schedule Table 3-1 is the preventive maintenance schedule of NTDI02 terminal device. This table lists preventive maintenance tasks in groups according to the specified maintenance intervals. Preventive maintenance procedures cover tasks that require further explanation. Note: The preventive maintenance plan is for general purposes only. Your application may require special attention.

WARNING Do not clean electrical parts or components when live. Doing so will expose the technician to the danger of electric shock and may damage the equipment. Wear goggles when using cleaning solvents. When using compressed air to remove the solvent from the printed circuit board, the solvent may be splashed to the eyes when it is removed from the printed circuit. There are several circuit board cleaning procedures in this section. These procedures include circuit board cleaning and cleaning, edge connector cleaning, and circuit board lamination between edge connectors. Use a program that meets the needs of each circuit board. Remove all dust, dirt, oil, corrosion, or any other contaminants from the circuit board. Clean and dispose the printed circuit board at the electrostatic safety workstation. When handling printed circuit boards, be sure to follow the steps in "Special Handling".
