hardware setup
The hardware settings are part of the IS420UCSBH4A ordering information and are populated by user specified options at the factory. CPU speed, RAM size and flash memory size cannot be upgraded by users. To change the CPU speed or RAM/Flash size, contact customer service for a Return Authorization (RMA). The physical location of the board CPU jumper and connector is shown in Figure 1-1 on page 27. The definition of CPU board jumper and connector is included in Table 1-1 to Table 1-7. Note: Users can change or modify all jumpers marked as "User Configurable" in the following table. Users should not modify all jumpers marked with factory configuration
usage method
IS420UCSBH4A conforms to VMEbus physical specification of single slot 6U dual card (dual height). It can be directly inserted into any standard chassis that accepts this type of board. Warning: Do not install or remove the circuit board when it is powered on. The following steps describe the VMIC recommended installation and power on method of IS420UCSBH4A: 1. Make sure that the equipment power is turned off. 2. Select the chassis slot. IS420UCSBH4A must be connected to the dual P1/P2 VME bus backplane. If IS420UCSBH4A is a VME bus system controller, select the first VME bus slot. If the different board is a VME bus system controller, select any slot except slot 1. IS420UCSBH4A does not require jumpers to enable/disable system controller functions. Note: The air flow measured at the radiator output side is required to be greater than 350LFM.
